Our WReC Vacation School is an intensive series of workshops and training events designed to address important questions in the field. It builds on an earlier World-Literature Vacation School that took place at the University of Warwick in 2014. At that event, a number of leading scholars in the field from the UK, Europe, and the Americas joined postgraduate students and early-career researchers to ask “What is world literature?”
The 2018 Vacation School aims to continue the conversations begun at the earlier school, asking “What next for world-literature?” Combining keynote talks by leading scholars with sessions dedicated to pedagogy, publishing, and critical debates in the field, the school will consider how we study and teach world literature in an age of environmental crisis, economic turmoil, and socio-political upheaval.
